What you need to know when choosing the best smartphone

With the changes in technology for the last ten years, the rate of smartphone users has increased heavily. Every year around 67% of the phones sold are smartphones according to a report by Safaricom.
It has also been indicated that the east African penetration of smartphones is higher by 40% than the continents penetration.
With that said, it is good for us to discuss what to consider when choosing the best smartphone. Below are the main aspects to look at when choosing a smartphone.

Operating system

Currently Android smartphones dominate the largest market of smartphones. Before choosing a smartphone, one has to consider choosing one that fits their purpose. The reason to why you are buying the smartphone should dictate the kind of operating system you choose.
Android operating system however is the most preferred owing to the fact that it is an open OS and easy to customize.

Screen size and Quality

The size of your smartphones’ screen matters a lot to you. It is where you spend too much time at in your smartphone. It is therefore good to choose a smartphone whose screen resolution and size make you comfortable with the phone.

Pricing

How much you are budgeting for in a smartphone matters a lot. Before purchasing a smartphone, one has to shop around and compare the features and specs between smartphones of the budgeted price range and choose the best performing device in that range.

Camera.

The growth of smartphone photography has elevated the production of devices with high quality cameras. One has to choose a device with the best cameras. Before buying a smartphone one should consider checking its megapixels and camera resolutions.

Battery

A good smartphone has a good battery that lasts long. Before purchasing a smartphone, you need to check its battery. A smartphone with the highest mAh within your budget range should be the one you choose.

How Can Virtual Reality Applied In Healthcare In The Future
Introduction
Emerging changes in the delivery of healthcare are playing a very crucial role on the healthcare’s professional experience structure in a number of ways (Meggs Greer & Collins 2012, 45). Additionally, medicine has evolved through a number of changes over the past five decades. In the modern era, medical knowledge can be argued to double each and every 6-8 years since new medicinal procedures are discovered every day (Atwal Money and Harvey 2014 283). As a result, continuous education has been established as one of the most crucial aspects for both the medical physician and the nurse as well. In other words, all this education process revolves around the restructuring of the curricular and the teaching process, faculty infrastructure improvement most especially in matters of education and performance evaluation strategies. According Atwal Money and Harvey 2014 283, the education model in Nursing and medical field is modeled around the concept “see, one, do one, teach one” in the sense that other educational features such as lectures and films are now being incorporated into the nursing sector. Recent technological advances such as the two-dimensional and three-dimensional virtual worlds coupled with computer simulations can offer the medical field and opportunity to improve on their education and training levels of their health professionals through facilitation of virtual environments (Gorini and Riva 2014 67).

The aim of this research revolves around exploring the benefits and the employment of the VR in healthcare training and education. Additionally, significant literature reviews and projects that have previously been carried out in this field will as well be explored followed by a review of issues that revolve around the current limitations as well as future development directions.
Rationale
Virtual Reality is a computer-generated simulation of an imagined or real environment. Additionally, the basis of the VR idea revolves around the fact that it can synthesize a 3D graphical environment by computing a numerical data. Additionally, a primary feature of the virtual environment experience is the fact that it can allow individuals to virtually interact with the imagined environment using external input devices such as joystick, mouse or typical VR peripherals that are responding to the user’s emotions and reactions (Ma Jain and Anderson, 2014 45). Moreover, this computer established world can either be a model of an object in the real world or an abstract of the real world that is imaginary but is comprehended by humans like a representation of a chemical molecule (Grajales 2013 57). One primary feature of Virtual environment lies in the fact that it established the possibility of individuals to interact with the environment that is established. As a result, this research topic is important in health sciences because it allows students to learn through immersion and interaction by means of first-person interaction (Ma Jain and Anderson, 2014 45). In other words, firsthand experience plays a significant role in the learning process of medical and health care professionals hence the Virtual environments will help them learn through perpetual illusion of nonmediation since the virtual environments allows for the construction of  knowledge from the direct experience of this healthcare professionals. Moreover, learning through virtual environment is better than other learning techniques since it encourages adaptability, promotes experiential and active learning, encourages visualization and reification and VR itself a very good platform for visualization and reification.
As much technological advances and other medical advances have made it possible for healthcare and medical professionals a number of innovative training tools, it can be argued that Virtual environment possess the great potential of moving the healthcare professional ton the next level most especially when it comes to the learning process (Ma Jain and Anderson, 2014 45). Additionally, through the promotion of the interaction with the learning subjects, it can be argued that Virtual learning promotes motivation in training coupled with a learning interest that is universally acknowledged as a condition that is very influential in the learning process (Grajales 2013 57). In other words, Virtual learning process allows for the applicability of learning tools that may be very challenging, too costly or rather very simply very impossible to posses the real world.
It is also universally accepted that the current Virtual training applications in regards to medical and health training differ a lot depending on the technology and the type of attributes that needs to be trained (Ma Jain and Anderson, 2014 45). Additionally, the only application that is common in the modern day healthcare environments is the immersive 3D environments that train individuals in matters of psychology most especially when it comes to the treatment of schizophrenia in an effort to deepen professionals’ comprehension level about the disease.

Methods and Strategies
A research strategy that appealed to me in the process of my literature review revolved around how daily objects and historical environment that are conventionally lined with history and personal traits by browsing, reading books and visiting locations are very important in Artistic work. It is through this browsing that I was able to come across the work of Geoffrey heat and Gareth Pugh. Gareth’s work is high quality and elusive and Geoffrey Heat’s pictorial works. Geoffrey Heat produces quiet lyrical, many layered images of deeply intimate and personal subjects. This is evidenced by his photography work as shown below.

Gareth Pugh’s believes in the combination of history and modern way of thinking in a more human image such as softer, richer and finely detailed images that are closer to our eye as compared to what most individuals see in digital capture and other mainstream media.
Gareth Pugh is a designer and photographer based in London whose work gets inspiration from history. Additionally, Gareth Pugh possess a strong sense of ancestral history most especially when it comes to Gothic Culture and fashion while at the same  time, he believes that he has the best opportunity of putting something that he likes in the way that he sees will fit the society in the best way possible. Moreover, the recombination of his artistic fashion is like historical collages and fiction which details the imaginative visual and electric language that revolves around his rich taste of gothic ancestral history.
The internet and historical books are some of the important research methods for Gareth Pugh since the internet has a rich vein of image data bank which ensures that Gareth has the right elements for his work that he is looking for. Moreover, he reviews his clothing designs; goes back and examine what exactly the modern day would want to be associated with in the Gothic culture. In so doing, it allows Gareth to rigorously and quickly process imagery.
The research methods that are employed in this research are significant in exploring and identifying the concepts needed in my research topic with the genre political photography, stage and documentary. I intend to work on Photoshop images to create constructed narrative images that are made in accordance with the politics between China and Hong Kong. The images of Hong Kong and China will be sued as the documentaries background images and some of the design clothes from Gareth Pugh’s work. As a result, this purposes to gain a better comprehension of the concepts behind fashion design and fashion images to emphasize the historical context of the Gothic culture and fashion. In simple terms, the methods employed in this research are more effective in allowing me to produce a more clear and straightforward picture of the political depiction of Gothic fashion and culture.
Reading books articles and browsing the internet about Gothic culture and fashion is some of the research methods I have employed. Additionally, reading books and gaining insights knowledge about the culture, history and the political art in regard to Goth culture and fashion so as to comprehend some of the reasons behind the modern changes in the culture and the way individuals think about Gothic culture as a whole.
The research strategies to gain an insight on the environment and visit the location would be based on the current research plan because the situation at hand. In this case, my financial and economical condition does not allow me to visit the area in person hence leaving research through internet and books as the only obvious alternatives of gaining an insight on the topic of research.

Photography and Documentation
Ewing, W, et al. reGeneration: 50 Photographers of Tomorrow, 2005-2025.London: Thames and Hudson (Political Art Documentation)
The book reGeneration: 50 photographers of tomorrow that was written by Ewing et al aims at developing the society in terms of photography that is always looking for the perfect photography works. In this case, Ewing et al aims at examining what the young photographers are trying to achieve in the 21st century, how they witness the world, how much they accept or reject the world that is always striving to get the best in terms of photography. In this case, one of the most talked about photographer in this book by Ewing et al ids Geoffrey Heat. In other words, Ewing et al offers the broadest and most enterprising discussion of its kind on the current crop of photographers and in this case, he uses creative language in seeking answers to some of the questions that have been frequently asked about the modern day photographers or rather the photographers of the 21st century. In so doing, it can be argued that this book by Ewing et al showcases the inspiring ingenuity and creativity of the eight chosen photographic artists including Geoffrey Heat with approximately over 200 superb images. In simple terms, this book provides evidence that the art of photography is alive and that the practitioners of this artistic element are way off the mark towards producing one of the most exemplary works ever.
Comment
I like Ewing et al’s work since it is laid out in a manner that is to the point and easy for everyone to comprehend his work and in the process, it is a very informative and highly interesting read. As a result, I can recommend this book to young photographers who are trying to make their careers to pick since it can help them get a rough idea on where their work is placed as compared to that of their contemporaries. I really like the work of this book because it has an extensive connection to the current problems and challenges facing photography and the expression of pictures employed in this book most especially from Geoffrey Heat is very creative. In this case, I believe that the creative nature employed in the book can be said to be a good idea most especially when employed for political art.

Gareth Pugh Gothic Fashion Designer (Political Art Fashion)
Gareth Pugh is acknowledged as the modern protagonist of the Gothic fashion that emanates from London .based on his attributes, he can be said to be a very straightforward individual who is always forward looking (Edwards, and Agnieszka, 64). In simple terms, the modern Gothic fashion presented by Pugh’s is stylish and often embedded with a modern touch as opposed to other artistic designs that always follow conventional lines as shown in figure 2 below
Figure 2: Gothic fashion
Gothic designs are an artistic impression that is integrated with gothic subculture tastes that are fancied by the artist as ideal for a particular generation. Additionally, this expressions as expressed in garments can be said to follow a certain conventional historical lines based on long established art traditions. As a result, the modern day artists such as Gareth Pugh have developed the tendency to look back at the traditional elements that were initially embraced to which they base their identity or rather form of art on (Bruzzi and Pamela 56). Moreover, art and design materials integrate in such a way that they ultimately combine inflatable garments embedded with white and black colors and geometric shapes besides materials such as plastic and PVC (Edwards, and Agnieszka, 64). In essence, these are materials that are characteristics of classical baroque art and Gothic fashion as in figure 3 below.

Figure 3: Gothic Mainstream Fashion
Comment
The political art portrayed by Gareth Pugh in his gothic fashion and design can be said to represent something bigger than itself using fashion, coupled it some of the things that some people can never talk about in some situations. In this case, since Gareth Pugh has established his clothing line in such a way that he embeds history together with the modern way of life has really inspired me for change. In fact, I really like Gareth Pugh’s fashion as portrayed in figure 4 since these photo express deeply some of the ways the Gothic fashion is embedded in the modern era.

Geoffrey Heat: photographic designs (Political Art Photography)
From the analysis of Geoffrey Heat’s work on Gothic fashion and information obtained from the internet, I believe that the complexity of the modern day Gothic fashion photography is accompanied by an increasing characteristics sense of Gothicism as far as the design itself is concerned. In this case, by looking at Geoffrey’s work as the modern type of artist who focuses entirely on the Gothic subculture photography, it can be noted that his work frequently keeps on returning to the themes of prosthesis and automata, and automata itself as shown in figure 6 below.
Figure 6: Gothic Fashion Photography
In fact, as much as the garments that were witnessed in the early 1980s may still be put on by a certain section of individuals, it can be argued that the modern day Gothic artists are increasingly esoteric and perverse. In other words, when I examined Gareth Pugh’s work, I noticed that most of the Gothic fashion design is characteristics by aspects of vampirism, imprisonment and torture while at same time resonates with the structural conventions of the characteristic features of gothic literature. In this case, by conflating the penetrating gaze with fangs that are also penetrating, the modern day artistic designs have undergone what is acknowledged as elements of transferability.
Based on his Photography on Gothic fashion, Geoffrey Heat can be accepted as a modern day artist who does things that the modern day photographers have no courage to do in the modern century. Since political history is something that is widely respected in the society in such a way that any modification to its existence is something that can raise eyebrows, Geoffrey Heat can be said to be one of the noblest hearted photographers. However, Geoffrey heat is not scared of the opinion of the public and the politic issues surrounding the Gothic fashion. But on the contrary, he takes it personal in the sense that he gets carried along with the events happening in the mainstream media about the Gothic fashion and the Punk attributed in such a way that an audience can relate with what he is trying to express through his photography as shown in figure 7  and 8 below.

Figure 8: Horror Nature associated with Gothic Culture
Comment
Political photography is to portray the hiding truth, non speakable, the blind side of the globe, true experience, voice from the heart and opinion. In this case, the photography portrayed by Geoffrey Heat has inspired me to continue working hard on my project and make art part and parcel of my daily activities. In other words, Geoffrey heat’s work has shown that as an artist, it is important to scratch the surface and go beyond what other individuals think, seek clarity and politic issues relating to political photography and history.

5 Reasons Why You Should Avoid Cheap Android Smartphones

The popularity of smartphones running on android operating system has misguided users believing that they will get the same user experience from just any android smartphone. Well, technically, the fact that the device is running on android means that you should be able to run all the apps in the play store but it is not as simple as that. The user experience is not the same despite being able to run the same range of games and other applications. Low end android devices will keep ‘hanging’ when some applications are installed and most games will just slow and overheat the phone. While the obvious advantage for going for a cheap android smartphone is saving money, I will point out the main reasons why I believe you should never go for a cheap Android smartphone throughout the rest of this article.

 Slow Single-Core Processors

Buckle up and rack the dough to invest in at least a double core processor smartphone. This way, your device will be more responsiveness, you will be more satisfied with the overall performance and it will last you much longer. When it comes to CPUs, GHz and MHz are not all there is to consider. A single-core 1 GHz CPU in a cheap Android device is only good for basic tasks and casual gaming. Users will notice performance drops when they run anything even slightly more intensive. Do not think of your single core android device as comparable to your desktop CPU even if it comes with a 1 GHz processor. You’ll encounter a lot of setbacks, you simply won’t have hardware that is good enough to run the current top apps if you choose to go down the dirt-cheap road.

 Insufficient Amounts of Internal Storage

For an android device, internal storage is still very important even with expandable memory via micro SD. While data can at times be moved to the external memory, the apps that you install on your android device will be using the phone’s internal memory. Any device with internal storage less than 8GB will have you regretting right after you step out of the dealers shop. Any attempt to install multiple apps will leave you running out of space. And since you cannot move all you apps to external storage, memory card is only good for storing music, photos and any other form of multimedia.

Low RAM (Random Access Memory)

Having insufficient amounts of RAM will effectively disable on of android’s key features: Multitasking. The Android OS will automatically kill apps in the background to open up more RAM for the currently open apps to prevent clogging up. Games and other memory intensive tasks will leave the phone redrawing and stuttering, which translates to you having to wait a few seconds when you tap that screen to open something. Most cheap Android phones come with under 1 GB of RAM which is not enough, perhaps just sufficient to run an app or two, which is one thing but truly getting to enjoy the multitasking capability of the operating system requires a lot more than that.

 Low Quality Touchscreens

Cheap android smartphones even those with considerable screen size tend to have lower resolution. Try to go for a screen with at least 720p to enjoy viewing media from your smartphone. While it may be hard to notice the distinction in the interface, you will be able to make out clear sharp edges in videos/movies regardless of their native resolution, and your games will not be fuzzy either, particularly 3D ones. Anything less than 720p is not going to be as sharp and crisp as you would expect. I can’t stress enough the importance of a good quality screen on a smartphone to fully enjoy the experience. Ever heard of dead pixels? Yea they make your screen less responsive. This usually happens in low quality touchscreens mostly found in cheap android phones. You’ll probably get bored pretty quick if all the fun is sucked out by an irresponsive screen or blurred images and videos, or if you are experiencing difficulties navigating around apps.

Lack of a Front Facing Camera

Everybody wants to take a selfie every once in a while, but how are you going to do that with no front facing camera? Many of the so called affordable android smartphones come without a front camera, and if it’s there, it is a poor VGA camera that will leave you hating your face if you happen to open it by mistake. There is not much fun in taking pictures without a front facing camera.

Well, there you have it, reasons you shouldn’t buy one of these ‘affordable’ android smartphone. If all you want to make phone calls, text and moderate internet browsing, you are better off with a decent feature phone. They are cheap and happen to come with an incredibly long battery life.
